Yoga Retreat Philosophy

Very simply, a yoga retreat is a once-in-a-lifetime journey that will transform your life…a gift of inner renewal and wellness.

With little time and money to spend these days on vacation; many people are looking past vacations that encourage gorging on food while lying inactive on a beach or poolside. Typical vacations can leave you feeling more unhealthy and stressed than when you started. A yoga retreat, however, can fulfill your need for adventure, in breathtaking locations while putting you on a path to a healthier lifestyle and better quality of life for you alone, or including your family and friends.

A yoga retreat is not just a vacation, but also a memorable, life-changing journey combining the relaxation and renewal that you seek in a vacation; but also including majestic scenery, unique adventures, healthy gourmet cuisine, authentic connections with new friends, spiritual journeys, escape from the routine, stress relief, fitness, and learning.

In short, a yoga retreat offers the opportunity for a complete transformation of your life physically, mentally and spiritually.

Why going on Yoga retreats with us?

Our international yoga retreat program runs concurrently with our teacher training program, offering a unique experience for those who desire to immerse themselves in the history and philosophy of yoga or choose to participate in a wide variety of yoga classes from the gentlest to the most physically challenging. Yoga retreat participants can also sample a number of meditation classes or explore deep relaxation techniques through Yoga Nidra. Our retreats also offer participants who may be considering a teacher training certification an opportunity to glimpse inside the rich, comprehensive program offered by Global Yoga Shala.

In addition, all of our yoga retreats include healthy, gourmet meals to help participants meet their wellness goals. Diets including vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and many others are offered.

To allow better flexibility for our yoga retreat participants, we can accommodate alternate dates for each retreat within the teacher-training program dates. Please contact us if you want to request alternate dates.

Who attends a yoga retreat?

Everyone! A yoga retreat is not just for experienced practitioners; in fact it is more common to find less experienced yoga practitioners or people who do not do yoga attending a yoga retreat. Often many people get their first introduction to yoga on a retreat, choosing to attend for the mental relaxation and spiritual benefits as much as the physical. Business professionals, retirees, travelers, families, experienced yogis and everyone in-between can be found on a yoga retreat.
